- I will be finishing my studies at McMaster University in December. I am currently applying to Audiology programs in Canada and the United States and, lord willing, will start that program next September.
- As my time in Hamilton is ending, I often find myself reflecting on my time here. Even though I'm a sucker for the waterfalls, I have to say my favourite part about Hamilton has been the fellowship. I have been incredibly lucky to attend university with a group of friends I met through the Salvation Army/camp. Over the last four years, having a close-knit group of friends who support, challenge and encourage each other; who genuinely enjoy spending time together, has made my university experience so memorable. I can't imagine life at Mac without the game nights, intramural sports, group hikes/runs, or group dinners.
- Another form of fellowship for me has been with my Meadowlands Corps family. I still remember my first band practice four years ago, unaware of how much this band would impact my life. The instant warmth and friendliness from the band brought comfort to my 19 year old, homesick self. Thursday night rehearsal is filled with laughter, and it has become a place where I can be completely "Steph". The Christian examples that sit in the seats around me have inspired and challenged my faith, and have always encouraged my banding. I am beyond thankful that God led me through that door that read "Meadowlands Corps" four years ago.
- Recently my family developed our old home videos into DVDs, and it has made my heart so happy. It's hard to explain, and may sound silly, but it has made me appreciate and love my family even more than I already did.
- As many of you know, I have always enjoyed photography. This summer I decided to take my photography more seriously. I still have SO much to learn, so if you have any advice, PLEASE message me. I would love to hear anything at all!
- Autumn. Autumn is near! Autumn, specifically October, has always been my favourite time of the year. I can feel myself getting excited just from typing this. The season for scarves, pumpkin pie, festivals, Thanksgiving, beautiful colours, Halloween, crisp cool air - how can you not love it? Anyone want to go apple picking this year?!
- In terms of my faith, two things I have been reminding myself of are:
- The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart - 1 Samuel 16:7. Easier said than done, right?
- Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you - Matthew 7:7. I've been reminding myself that this doesn't just apply to when I need something. His plan is better than my plan, and I should be praying for his light to guide me every day.
